Summertime Guide To Natural Deodorants ( That Actually Work! )

I’ve spoken on here about my journey with natural deodorants before, and yes it has been A JOURNEY. I honestly didn’t even really need deodorant at all until a year or two ago ( thanks a whole lot hormonal changes #NOT ) and I knew for 100% sure that I was not going to be putting aluminum & other toxic cancer causing agents that are packed into regular deodorants straight into my glands. This only left one option – test out millions of natural deodorants until I found one I liked!

If you are curious about whether or not the deodorant you are currently using is toxic, or not, I’ve listed out the ingredients to watch out for in this post here.

This blog all about honesty, and being REAL with ya’ll. Even if that means getting down & dirty.

So, the thing is, I don’t need deodorant because I sweat a lot, I need it to avoid getting that gross BO smell, especially when I’m stressed out ( I’m sure I can’t be the only one ). My armpits don’t get that wet, sweaty feeling, but sometimes they do get stinky.

The first natural deodorant I tried was TOMS. It worked great for a couple months but then something changed and every time I applied it I would sweat like crazy. It was so weird! So I experimented and on days I didn’t wear it I had no sweat at all, then on days I did wear it, you guessed it, my armpits were like actually sweating. It didn’t stink, so it was doing it’s job in that perspective, but it was making me sweat! Not gonna work LOL.

Next, I tried Schmidt’s.. I was gifted the Lavender + Sage scent from Chris’s mom and LOVED it. However, after using it for a few weeks I began getting this horrific rash in my armpits. I mean horrific. It was bright red, covered my whole underarm area, burned, itched, all my clothes irritated it, I couldn’t shave over it because it was too painful, and my skin literally started to peel off in chunks. I stopped using the deodorant and it took like three months for the rash to completely disappear. I know that is common when first using a natural deodorant because your body is finally able to release the toxins that a toxic deodorant was keeping inside your body, but I have never even used a toxic deodorant so I knew that couldn’t be the cause. I assumed I was just allergic to one of the ingredients, even though they were all all natural. I spoke to Chris’s sister about it and she said the same thing happened to her! So I’m not sure the cause. I did try the unscented version and didn’t get a rash. So I’m guessing it was the scent. Chris uses the Bergamot + Lime scent and he loves it! However, he has gotten a bit of the same kind of rash his sister & I got soooo….. maybe we’re all allergic! He still uses this brand though.

She suggested I try Arm & Hammer Essentials Natural. Total win. It’s very inexpensive, you can buy it anywhere, and it works great. As long as you don’t actually get sweaty…. I would recommend this deodorant to wear to work if you work in an air conditioned space or somewhere where no sweating is involved, because it will last all day and works great, as long as you stay cool.

So, still on the hunt, I searched Amazon and came across the brand Funkless. Not only is the name hilarious, the ingredients are so minimal it’s too good to pass up. I’ve been using it for about three months now and have had zero issues! I love it! No rash, it keeps the stink away, and doesn’t cause weird sweating issues LOL. It’s everything you need, with nothing you don’t. I mean, really though, what more could you ask for in a natural deodorant?

I’ve learned that I just have very sensitive skin and just must plan accordingly. So a fun little hack I’ve learned is that the days I shave my armpits I moisturize them with some Coconut Oil when I get out of the shower and that acts as a moisturizer, it keeps the ingrown hairs away and works just fine as a deodorant for the day! Just one more way Coconut Oil basically saves our lives everyday LOL.

Totally don’t want to jinx it but I think I’ll be able to use this one for awhile! And I’m excited about that!

REMEMBER that these are just my personal experiences and we all have different types of skin and different hormones, so you may react differently to something than I have. SO BY ALL MEANS try every single kind I’ve tried, or not, totally up to you! Just don’t let my experiences scare you away from certain brands. Make sense?

10 Best Cooling Beauty Products For Summer

Weather you live in Texas like I do where it’s a perfect summer day if the humidity is below is 75% and the temperature is below 95 degrees, or not, we all need a little cooling boost every once in awhile during these scorching summer months. RIGHT? And since the best parts of summer involve cooling down by  diving into a cold, refreshing pool & sipping a spicy margarita, that just isn’t possible for most of us since summer isn’t an actual 3 month vacation… we settle for the next very best thing: cooling beauty products!

Well I searched and searched and found the best of the best ( in my opinion obviously )! These are all things you can use in the morning, or at night, bring with you to the pool, stash in your purse for random all day use, or give as gifts to your friends with summer birthdays!

Using these products is like giving yourself a mini vacation, and you’ll love yourself for it. There really is nothing better or more relaxing in the summer than being able to actually cool off & relax.

  1. First Aid Beauty Detox Eye Roller – First of all, I LOVE anything from First Aid Beauty. They just know what’s up. Second of all, this product is formulated with caffeine, sodium hyaluronate, and botanical derived antioxidants to reduce fine lines, de puff, combat free radicals, and reduce dark circles. PLUS it has a metal roller ball which is the “cooling” aspect. Sign me up for this one for sure!
  2. Hampton Sun Shimmer Cooling Spray – A spritz anywhere cooling mist that also gives you a shimmery glow at the same time? This may be the only product you need at all, all summer!
  3. Yes To Cucumbers Cooling Hydrating Cucumber Mist – I love the Yes To brand. I’m pretty proud of the fact that I have tried almost every product they have and have literally never not been OBSESSED with it. This product is no exception. I also love the Grapefruit mist. Both are even more refreshing when kept in the fridge.
  4. Hansdema Ice Roller – I’ve dedicated a whole entire post to this baby right here. My obsession with this is so real that I use it every single day. Not just in the summer. Not only does it help increase cell reproduction in the face and reduce fine lines ( it’s basically an at home ice facial every morning ) but you can also use it to relieve headaches, sore muscles or burns.
  5. Korres After Sun – A lotion/gel hybrid formulated with greek yogurt to be super hydrating, and super cooling for after a day spent in the sun ( especially if you keep it in the fridge )!
  6. Milk Makeup Cooling Water – I mean, honestly, you just cannot pass up the branding on anything by Milk AM I RIGHT? But not only do they have fab branding, their products are incredible. This product in particular definitely has a cult following & for great reason. It’s a seawater & caffeine infused moisturizing stick, without the thick creaminess of a typical moisturizer. Perfect for those summer days spent at the beach or the pool where the thought of rubbing thick cream into your face is just not ideal.
  7. Evian Facial Spray – This also has a cult following, especially with makeup artists. Every single time I have ever gotten my makeup done for any kind of occasion this product is involved. It’s mineral water and it’s ulllltra hydrating for your skin. In my opinion, your skin just can’t be too hydrated, especially in the summertime.
  8. Peter Thomas Roth Cucumber De – Puff De – Tox Eye Cubes – I’ve used the Peter Thomas Roth cucumber eye pads before ( and loved them, of course ) but never these pods! You freeze the pods, then pop them into something, then rub them around your eyes. I’m very intrigued.
  9. Caswell Massey Cucumber Eye Pads – More cucumber, I know, it’s just SO cooling & hydrating for that thin, sensitive skin around the eyes, I just can’t get enough! Plus this product is just too cute to pass up. Think of the cute selfies possible with these on your eyes 😉
  10. The Body Shop Peppermint Foot Scrub – This product is meant to exfoliate your feet, and the peppermint makes it automatically very cooling. I’ve used it to exfoliate my legs and arms as well, and it feels AMAZING. You need to try it!

Shaving Vs. Waxing ( The Bikini Zone )


Hey hey everybody. Happy summer! Even though it’s been 95 degrees and above for about three weeks here in Texas… I love it though! People think I’m nuts, but it’s true! When we first moved here 8 years ago ( omg I cannot believe that it has been that long wow I feel old ) I kept saying how I couldn’t wait for the super hot weather. We were coming from Idaho where you definitely get all 4 seasons, which is wonderful, but it’s just a biiiiit too cold for me. Everyone told me, “oh, give it a year or two, you’ll be so sick of the summers here!” Well, surprise everyone, I’m still obsessed! The humidity can definitely be draining, but hey, that’s what the pool & a spicy margarita are for, am I right? 😉


Pool equal swimsuits. Swimsuits equal shaving those legs, underarms & bikini areas we may have let go of just a little bit during the winter months. Unless you are ok with letting your body hair grow free, you do you girl! And probably just skip this post and go onto the next one LOL because this post is all about getting rid of that body hair.

So, a little background, I have pretty sensitive skin. ESPECIALLY my bikini area. But I had always just shaved all my hair down there off & kind of did what I could to deal with the side effects.

And by side effects I mean horrific razor burn, huge red bumps all over the place, itchiness and redness. So NOT ideal. Especially when you’ve gotta wear a bikini where your skin down there will be shown off to everyone at the pool. And believe me, I’ve tried all the things to not get razor burn… my skin just doesn’t like razors! Even on my legs.

I started using coconut oil in place of lotion a few year ago  and that did cut down on the bumps, redness & itching by a lot, but still didn’t completely get rid of it. About 2 years ago Chris and I were about to go on our first little vacation together and I was like “omg I CANT have razor burn all over the place for this trip” so I looked into waxing.

I had never even had my eyebrows waxed before so I was a total newbie. I looked up a few places online, found one I liked, and made my first appointment for a Brazilian Wax.

Yes, I was terrified, and yes I seriously considered chugging a whole bottle of wine beforehand ( but then I remembered how that makes your skin more sensitive ), but I figured it had to be better than shaving every other day so I did it!

Here’s what happens ( if you’ve never done it and you’re terrified like I was ):

You walk in, they call you back to a small private room, they give you some wipes, tell you to take your pants & panties off and clean up a little bit with the wipes, you lay down on the table, they come back in, and then it begins. You lay on your back with your legs in a butterfly position. Yes it’s awkward for a few seconds because you’re just spread eagle in front of a woman you just met, but the thing is, they are a woman as well, so it’s not like it’s something they’ve never seen before, and it’s their job, THEY ARE NOT THERE TO JUDGE YOU.

They start by cleansing the area to remove any oils, lotions or makeup that may be on the skin. Next they shake on some baby powder to really reduce irritation and protect your skin. They begin with the wax on the outside edges of both sides, then the “top” like the very very bottom of your stomach where the hair stops. They use a wooden tool to apply and spread the warm wax onto your skin, then they wait a minute or two for it to dry & harden. They quickly remove the wax with their hands. This is the key thing!! Find somewhere that uses warm wax. NOT THE STRIPS. When they have to remove the wax with a cloth or paper, it tends to remove some of your skin with it and it is waaaaaay more painful. Trust me. Then they move to the middle ( the most painful spot ). My waxer does both sides at once. ITS AMAZING. The pain is over with so quickly it’s like it didn’t even happen. Shout out to Jana LOL. Then comes the butt. The easiest part. You have to lay in kind of a strange position but I’m telling you it doesn’t hurt AT ALL. It’s last and such a relief!

I’m not going to lie to ya’ll, overall, the first one is a pretty painful experience. But the thing is, the pain lasts for the amount of time it takes them to tear the wax off ( aka maybe 3 seconds per section ) and then it doesn’t hurt anymore! It’s totally one of those things that you make waaaay worse in your head before you go and then it’s over and you’re like oh wow that was super easy.

Amazing things that happen afterwards: the hair doesn’t grow back for at least three weeks! And since the wax pulls the hair straight out of the follicle ( instead of slicing it right below  skin level like shaving ) when it does grow back it’s much thinner and sparser. Your skin will be red, but it goes away within hours. You won’t have bumps, irritation, itching, or burning of any kind. Waxing also removes the top layer of dead skin cells, so you are getting exfoliation at the same time, which means your skin down there is going to be softer than it’s ever been!


I’ve been getting them regularly for like 6 months now and I will never go back to shaving. Like never. It just works for me. And the even more amazing thing is, when you get them regularly ( every 4 – 5 weeks depending on your hair growth ) the hairs all start to grow in the same direction, which means its less painful every time. Literally when I go now I don’t even get nervous, I actually get excited, because it’s such a piece of cake and then I don’t have to worry about it for a month!

Honestly it’s just very efficient, way better for your skin, and a total game changer for bikini season. It’s one of my favorite things in my self care routine.

Also, Chris is obsessed as well, just like I’m sure all of your boyfriends or husbands would be too ;).

Takeaways: Find somewhere that does hot wax, with no strips. Don’t shave for three weeks beforehand. DON’T BE NERVOUS. Apply some coconut oil afterwards when you get home.

Major 4th of July Outfit Inspo

I’ve probably said this 29375 times on here but can you believe how fast this year is going?! I mean the fact that we’re about to celebrating the 4th is CRAZY. This means I’m over halfway to 25 and I’m freakin out a little LOL.

Anywhoo. The 4th of July is Chris’s favorite holiday because #America & he “gets to blow stuff up”. Can’t really argue with that haha. I love it too! I love any holiday that involves celebrating with family, an excuse for delicious food, and basically any reason I get to be “festive” in any way at all. I like to get festive with the food I bring, the decorations ( even if it’s not my house or my party…. ) and especially with my outfits!

We actually don’t even have any set plans yet, but even if we just bbq with Chris’s family ( my family will be out of town ) and spend time at the pool before lighting fireworks off, I still want to be dressed up, because that’s just who I am!

Fathers Day Gift Guide

I literally never know what to get my dad for Father’s Day, and I know I cannot be the only one! Why are men so hard to shop for? WHY?! My dad’s go – to whenever we ask him what he wants ( for any holiday that involves gifts ) is “a motorcycle” sooo one year I got him a mini toy motorcycle in the exact model he wanted and I thought I was hilarious :). But this year, he was able to buy his dream bike for himself! Obviously we’re all beyond thrilled for him buuuut that takes my gift ideas for him from 1 back down to 0 LOL.

The good news is, Father’s Day isn’t until June 18th, so we have a few weeks, but in the spirit of planning ahead, I scoured website after website trying to find some not so typical ideas and here is my gift guide for my daddio this year.


1. Wooden Noise Cancelling Ear Buds – First of all, how many do these look?! My dad travels for work every week aka lots of time on airplanes, and while he is home he has a lot of conference calls aka his iPhone ear buds are basically hot glued into his brain. iPhone headphones are great, but these are noise cancelling, they fit to your ear shape so no pain if they are in for a long period of time, and the real wood exterior is just too manly to pass up.

2. Project Smoke – This is a cookbook all about smoking foods on a smoker. My dad is OBSESSED with his smoker. He likes to come up with his own recipes and basically has the whole trial and error thing down to a science when it comes to figuring out time & temperatures for different meats and things. I figured a cool little cookbook wouldn’t hurt to give him some fresh inspo for the summer months ahead.

3. The Dad Beer Glass – My dad loves his craft beer, and I’m sure he isn’t the only dad out there that does! This glass is thoughtful & practical. The two things dads love!

4. Beer Makes Me Hoppy – Basically, see number 3 LOL. I’m not sure if this will be helpful for any of ya’ll out there looking for Father’s Day gift inspo, but it was just TOO PERFECT for my dad to not put into gift guide. If your dad isn’t into beer, Amazon & Etsy have soooo many cheeky t-shirt ideas, I’m sure you can find one or two that just describe your dad to a T ( hehe get it! )

5. A Dollar Shave Club Membership – My mom got this for my dad as a Christmas gift two years ago, which means his year long membership is up, so Father’s Day is the perfect time to renew it! The Dollar Shave club is AMAZING. I even have a membership. Not only do you never have to worry about buying razors, you don’t have to worry about buying shaving cream or anything else, either! Perfect for dads with a beard.

6. Joking Hazard – Anything that means our family spending time together is a win in my dads book. Especially a good game night! Our family loves to play Cards Against Humanity, and this game seems just as hilarious and inappropriate so I figured “why not!” Haha.

7. A Fist In The Hornets Nest – My dad was an Army Ranger and loves anything Military related. He also loves reading! I get him at least one book for every gift giving holiday because he goes through them so quickly. Anything Military related is usually a safe bet, and I don’t think he’s read this one, so it’s a win win!

Summertime Ulta Haul

Today we are getting super duper girly and talking makeup, makeup and more makeup! One of my favorite things 🙂 Remember how in middle school we all went through that horrific thick eyeliner stage with like bright sparkly blue eyeshadow ( or was that just me… LOL )? Well I feel like being in your twenties is like that in a way where it’s fun to experiment and try new things with makeup, just maybe in more flattering ways!

Personally, my favorite time to try new makeup products and new makeup looks is when the seasons change. With it transitioning from Spring to Summer here in Texas pretty quickly now, I figured now is the time!

So today I put together my summertime Ulta makeup haul for you guys of products that I’m just DYING to try.

  1. Stila Huge Extreme Lash Mascara – For the last few months I’ve been using Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara and I’m obsessed. However, I feel like it gets dried out and makes my lashes look spidery within a few weeks. I’ve read amazing things about this Stila mascara and that it’s very comparable, so I cannot wait to try it out!
  2. Benefit Gimme Brow Volumizing Fiber Gel – I very recently started to darken my very, very light eyebrows with a pencil and I’m LOVING it. I think I was always a little afraid they would look super fake or something? Who knows LOL but I started small and just did a super light pencil, and I’m ready to move on up in the world to some gel and I love anything and everything from Benefit so I figured this was the perfect place to start.
  3. Too Faced Natural Love Ultimate Neutral Eyeshadow Pallet – I JUST NEED THIS IN MY LIFE. I don’t know what else to say. All the colors look like they were literally made for every eye color and every skin tone imaginable and natural eyes is my every day look so I can totally justify buying it ;).
  4. MAC False Lashes Maximizier – I currently use a Dior lash primer that I love but have just been wanting to switch it up. Can’t go wrong with MAC! It’s formulated to go on white, then dry clear, so you know exactly when it’s time to layer your mascara on top.
  5. Too Faced Shadow Insurance Anti-Crease Eyeshadow Primer – Eyeshadow primers are just a necessary part of wearing eyeshadow. I can’t stand that crease that appears in a few hours without it! Especially if you do a bolder look, don’t want anything getting messed up, am I right?

  1. Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick ( Pearla ) – It’s one of my life goals to own every Stila liquid lip color because they are just PERFECTION. My collection is growing slowly but surely, especially with all their gorgeous nudey pinks! I’m just in love! They go on super smooth, they’re moisturizing, they don’t crack or dry out, and they literally do stay on all day. What more could you need from a liquid lip?
  2. Too Faced La Crème Color Drenched Lip Cream ( Nude Peach ) – I just discovered this product on Ulta’s website and am so so intrigued! It looks so moisturizing but fun at the same time because they have so many bright colors! Perfect for summer time where you need some moisture but also some color!
  3. TONYMOLY Kiss Kiss Lip Scrub – This lip scrub is my jaaaam. It’s smells great, it works great, and is just the perfect little at home 5 second spa treatment. It’s especially perfect to do right before you put on your liquid lipstick to ensure you don’t get any weird cracks or dryness after you apply.
  4. Too Faced Melted Matte Liquified Long Wear Lipstick ( Queen B ) – Another liquid lip addiction of mine. This product is formulated with a little bit of lip plumper which is amazing, the colors are insanely pigmented and SO SMOOTH, while staying put through eating, drinking, even kissing! Every time I’m in Ulta they’re sold out of this color so I’m just going to order it online and call it a day!
  5. Benefit They’re Real! Double The Lip Lipstick & Liner In One ( Pink Thrills ) – This is another product I just discovered online and cannot wait to try! Liner & lipstick in one? Yes please!

  1. Marc Jacobs Under(cover) Perfecting Coconut Face Primer – This was released recently and every blogger I follow is going nuts over it. I mean it’s Marc Jacobs, it’s a primer, and it’s made with Coconut Milk. IT’S A NEED, not a want, let’s be honest.
  2. IT Cosmetics CC+ Cream Illumination SPF 50+ – This is the only foundation I will ever wear again. I know that’s a pretty big thing to say! I never used to even wear foundation until I tried this and now I can’t stop. It looks and feels like you have zero makeup on, while making your skin GLOW all at the same time.
  3. NARS Light Reflecting Setting Powder – Since I am beginning to do more photoshoots for Bliss And Bubbly I thought it would be fun to just test out different setting powders and see which ones work best for being in front of the camera. I love anything NARS, and figured it was the perfect first one to test out.
  4. Philosophy Renewed Hope In A Jar Skin Tint – I’ve been a huge Philosophy user for years now and have been using their Hope In A Jar moisturizer during the winter since I was a junior in high school. When I saw they came out with this tinted moisturizer I squared a little out loud! It’s combining skin care and makeup in one, and is the perfect solution to those days when actually doing your makeup just isn’t gonna happen, ya know? It’s a build able product as well, so you can layer it and make it darker or lighter depending on what you’re going for.
  5. IT Bye Bye Under Eye Anti-Aging Concealer – I never needed under eye concealer until recently ( I blame it on stress but I think I’m just getting old LOL, does 24 count as old…? ) and IT Cosmetics is just IT, ya know?

Little backstory here: So I’m terrified of getting winkles & skin cancer so I wear sunscreen like a psycho and do my best to stay out of the sun. Sooo I’m usually pretty fair skinned. Especially since I have auburn hair. Before Chris and I went to Florida a couple weeks ago I got my first spray tan ( I know I’m a little late to the party LOL ) and I LOVED it. I had no idea how much confidence having a tan would give me! So Instead of spending a fortune on spray tans I’m going to start to just doing weekly at home self spray tans and am so excited to try a bunch and find out what works best for me!

  1. Bare Minerals Faux Tan Body Sunless Tanner – I love that Bare Minerals has a tanning lotion! Bare Minerals is natural and I’ve never met a product of theirs that I didn’t like. Plus I’ve read that it doesn’t have that “fake tan” smell so that’s a super plus.
  2. Tan Towel Self Tan Towelette For Body & Face – How perfect are these for date night when you have an off the shoulder dress on and just need a little extra glow on your shoulders & your legs? SOLD!
  3. Ulta Double Sided Sunless Tan Applicator Mitt – Because, duh.
  4. St. Tropez Self Tan Classic Bronzing Mousse – This is the one I’ve heard about and read about the most and I think looks the most natural. I think this is the first one I’m going to try because it’s a mousse and I feel like it would be prettttty hard to mess up!
  5. Coola Sunless Tan Dry Oil Mist – I just love Coola! All their products are natural and most of them are Coconut Oil based, which is just very Bliss And Bubbly. I slather myself in all kinds of oils all the time so might as well do a tanning oil ya know 🙂

SO MANY PRODUCTS, SO LITTLE TIME! Good thing product testing is one of my favorite extra curricular activities 🙂

Weekly Chat – Sunscreen, Sunscreen & More Sunscreen

Happy Friday! Cheers to the weekend! I had a bit of a weird week. Weird isn’t really the right word but it’s all that’s coming to me at the moment so we’re going to go with it. On Monday I had something happen to me that I could of either been super stressed and emotional about ( don’t get me wrong, I did cry for a few solid hours ) or turn it around and make it a positive for my life. After allowing myself to get all my emotions out and bouncing ideas off of Chris, I made the choice to make it a positive! There’s that saying that goes something like, “everything in life is a blessing or a lesson” but I like to think that everything that happens to us in this life is a blessing AND a lesson. Because I’ve talked about this before but it is my strongest belief that everything truly does happen for a reason.

That little rant of mine has nothing to do with sunscreen, and I’ll get to that in a second, I just want anyone out there that’s going through some major life changes at the moment that it’s going to be ok! It might not seem like it right this very second, but just take a second, sit down, close your eyes, and really think about what’s happening. I bet you could come up with AT LEAST one positive thing 🙂 It may seem like the end of world right now, but it could bring you the best opportunity ever, you won’t know till you let life do it’s thing. Ya know?

Now, SUNSCREEN. One of my favorite things on earth. If there is a random disease out there that causes you to be literally terrified of getting wrinkles, I have it LOL. So I take alllllll the precautionary measures I can!

I put sunscreen on my face multiple times throughout the day, I have a designated “car sunscreen” that I keep in my purse to slather on my hands and arms for while I’m driving, and I even put sunscreen in my hair to protect it from UV rays.

I grabbed all my current favorites for the photos in this postand will write how/when I use them below.   1.  Alba Botanicals Hawaiian Sunscreen – I bought this brand for the first time last summer before a trip to Maui for my best friends wedding. I bought a few other natural sunscreens as well and this ended up being my favorite. It smells INCREDIBLE. Like I kind of would wear it as a perfume? And works extremely well. I definitely recommend this brand for a natural alternative to whatever your current go – to is.
  2. Elta MD UV Sport Broad Spectrum Sunscreen –  My good old car sunscreen! I love that this brand is a zinc mineral sunscreen and pretty affordable considering that fact. It’s the perfect size to fit in any size purse, glove box, or center console and completely gets the job done.
  3. Alterna Bamboo Beach BB Balm For Hair – If the name didn’t tip you off, this is what I use to protect my hair. It’s natural, it smells like a tropical island, it adds shine & moisture, reduces frizz, and keeps my hair from getting damaged from UV rays. Win, win, win, win!
  4. Diorsnow UV Protection – I originally received this as a gift and I couldn’t find it anywhere online! 🙁 Sooo I linked something extremely similar that I’ve tried and love just as much. Basically you won’t lose with any Dior purchase. I love the travel sizes for my beach bags on those trips when you can’t check a bag. Ya know?!
  5. Pixi Sun Mist – This is one of my favorites for everyday! It’s all natural ( as is everything from Pixi, I love it! ), and sprays out as a clear mist. Perfect to spritz on after applying your moisturizer and before your makeup. Also, this is another I try to keep with me if I’m going to be outside for a few hours or all day, so I can keep spritzing every once in a while to ensure my face is protected the entire time I’m in the sun.

Basically I just need someone to follow me around with a sun umbrella or something then I really won’t have to worry about those pesky wrinkles 😉

This caffeinated sunscreen for you face that is SPF 50. Full protection and a nice wake up call? Sign me up!

Glossier’s new sunscreen because DUH!

The Naked Bee. This sunscreen is made from bee pollen, is packed with vitamin C and has orange blossom. What’s not to love?

Coola Organic Sun Care. It’s organic, it’s cucumber, it needs to get in my life.

So many sunscreens, so little time LOL. Good thing I live in Texas where the sun is almost shining! It’s super important to wear sunscreen even on cloudy days though, just so ya’ll know:) Not only do we not want wrinkles & sun spots, we don’t want cancer either, am I right?

My Favorite Travel Products

Happy Wednesday everybody! Chris and I got home from a beach vacation to Florida last week and ( as usual ) my over packing was in full effect LOL. I saw a meme on Facebook the other day that said something along the lines of “At home I can wear the same jeans and t-shirt for three days in a row but when I’m on vacation I have to bring 37 different outfits just in case I want to change” ( I’m probably completely butchering what the actual meme said but you get it ) and I laughed for like 10 minutes out loud and had to show Chris because thats just SO ME. A girl needs options, what can I say!

But not only do I overpack in the clothes department, I’m also guilty of over packing in the bathroom/body products department. I think I’m just always worried that I miiiiight end up needing that one thing that I was like “nah, I won’t need that, I’ll leave it at home!” YOU KNOW? So I bring everything. And I mean everything. Products that I don’t even really ever use at home! I just hate being uncomfortable when I’m not at home, if that makes sense, so I bring everything I could possibly need for any possible situation.

Except this trip I didn’t bring bug bite itch cream or my organic bug spray ( which I usually literally keep in my purse because if there is a bug it WILL bite me ) but I just completely forgot. And boy oh boy did that backfire! Let’s just say it ended with Chris and I on a witch hunt for some benadryl at 11:30 pm in a town where everything closes down at 7 pm. Not ideal. Anyways, all of that to say, being an over packer is definitely a great trait that I have, right? 😉

So, the positive of me bringing the whole entire travel section of Target with me on this trip is that I was able to really narrow down what I actually needed/used and what just wasn’t necessary to bring.



  1. Formula 10.0.6 Clean Getaway Travel Kit – I’ve recently become obsessed with this skincare line because of their peel masks. Seriously though, if you haven’t tried one of those, you need to! Their natural & super affordable. Anyways, for this trip I bought their travel packet and it was PERFECT. It includes makeup removing wipes, facial cleanser, a toner, and a mud mask! YES please.
  2. SheaMoisture Peace Rose Oil Complex Hair Mask – I thought I wouldn’t end up using this because usually the only hair masks I use are homemade with Coconut Oil & Castor Oil, but it was put to use! Between the ocean, the sun, the wind, and the humidity my hair was a dry tangly mess. On our last night there I put this mask in while we were watching the sunset and after I washed it out and woke up the next morning I felt like my hair was back to normal, just in time for our flight home!
  3. Yes To Charcoal Sheet Mask –  I don’t know if it’s just me, but something about being on an airplane for any amount of time makes me want to literally suck the bacteria out of my skin. Since that’s not exactly possible… a charcoal mask is the next best thing! These masks are great, they don’t move around and they’re natural! Plus they take up hardly any space whatsoever because they’re so flat.
  4. Mario Badescu Rose Water Facial Spray – I can’t live without this facial spray. That’s not me exaggerating either. I have one in my purse, one in my make up bag and one in bathroom cabinet. You could say I’m addicted, but hey, there are worse things to be addicted to LOL. I mean, I use it as a makeup setting spray, a makeup refresher, just as a general facial refresher after a nap, or a few hours at the beach before having to leave for dinner. It’s also the perfect quick treatment for a sunburn. Plus, the travel sized bottles are honestly just too cute to pass up.
  5. Not Your Mother’s Beach Babe Texturizing Sea Salt Spray – The salt spray I usually is a home made version ( I’ll do a DIY post on it if ya’ll want? ) but I couldn’t find a small enough bottle to transfer it to, so I picked this up at Target and LOVED IT! It smells heavenly and doesn’t make your hair crunchy. Perfect to throw in your beach bag and spritz on after a dip in the ocean for perfectly tousled beach waves.
  6. Neutrogena Body Oil – I love to buy this body oil and their Rain Bath shower gel because it reminds me of my grandmother. She’s had this in her bathroom and in her shower since I can remember and smelling it makes me feel like she’s with me! It’s perfect to bring to the beach though because it adds that perfect glowy shine to your skin that’s just ideal for going to dinner or walking around town while showing a little skin in an off the shoulder dress or some shorts.
  7. Maybelline 24K Nudes Eyeshadow Pallet – I love this thing. The colors are super pigmented and actually stay put with or without a primer. It’s the perfect travel size!
  8. Trader Joes Coconut Oil Packets – These aren’t in my photos because I got them after the fact… but let me just tell you if you buy one thing from this list IT NEEDS TO BE THESE. The box comes with ten perfectly portioned out little packets of coconut oil that you can throw in a bag and use any time for anything. We all know coconut oil is the holy grail of life itself, and it’s just necessary. BUY IT.

Last Minute Mother’s Day Gift Guide

PSA Mother’s Day is THIS SUNDAY, May 16th ( in case you forgot ) and if you are anything like me, life gets busy and time just kind of runs away from you. Every year I always have the best intentions for all holidays involved with gift giving ( especially ones where
I get to treat my fabulous momma! ), because I LOVE giving gifts. But sometimes those said holidays just kind of sneak up on you and everything seems rushed and it’s hard to find those thoughtful items your momma deserves.

Remember when you were little and you would make cards with your handprints that you turned into a heart in elementary school and gave it to your mom as her Mother’s Day gift? Well those were always my moms FAVE. I have a feeling when I’m a mother those will also be my fave because they’re just too sweet. And even though none of us kids are in elementary school anymore, those types of gifts are still my moms favorite. Maybe not our handprints on a piece of printer paper, LOL, but the idea of something handmade with a lot of thought & love put into it, ya know?

Last year I made my mom, my boyfriends mom, and his sister ( who has two of the cutest daughters on planet earth ) Goats Milk Honey Lavender Soap. It was a HUGE HIT with everybody, so much so that for every holiday after, that’s pretty much all anyone asks me for. So this year will probably be no different. BUT I also just love watching the people I love open a gift they weren’t expecting! So I put together a list of some cute things for all the different types of mommas in your life! 🙂

This is my mom to a T. Running around, super duper busy, at all times of the day. She’s that mom who finds her cup of coffee from that morning in the microwave at 6 pm barley even touched. Weekly Chat – Practicing Self Love


Happy Friday! We made it to the weekend ya’ll!

I started a new job last week and as exciting as that is, I’ve been extremely overwhelmed and am so mentally exhausted at the end of each day I barley have the energy to eat dinner. This has also resulted in me being way too hard on myself, in multiple ways.

Now, this isn’t like a “new thing” for me by any means. I’m a first born, I’m a perfectionist, and I’m as big of a people pleaser as they come. There are many instances in my life where I LOVE those qualities about myself. But then there are other times in life ( aka currently ) where I forget that I love those qualities, and in the process, I forget to love myself.

I put so much pressure on myself to be what everyone else wants/needs me to be, that sometimes I forget to just be who I need me to be. Does that make any sense? The past few weeks I’ve been in training at my new job and I came home after day 3 and had a complete meltdown panic attack bawling to Chris because I felt like I wasn’t ready to do the job on my own yet. He looked at me and goes, “Madison, it’s been THREE DAYS. No one expects you to do this on your own after three days.” I was like “wow duh.” WHY AM I SO HARD ON MYSELF?

I know for sure I can’t be the only one guilty of this. When I’m hard on myself in one area of life, I find that I’m hard on myself in other areas as well. I become very critical of my body, of my hair, my skin, my eyelashes, just anything I can nit pick about myself that I don’t “like”. Which is ridiculous because every other day I love each and every one of those things about myself!

So a few days ago ( with a few minor setbacks ) I made a promise to myself to just accept these things about myself and really embrace them, because each and every single one of those things are what makes me, ME, and that’s a beautiful thing.

When you take a minute to tell yourself something positive about yourself, instead of something negative, it changes your whole mood, your whole outlook, your whole day! Every time I’ve done this lately I not only instantly feel lighter & happier, I feel so much more confident. I wouldn’t even say it’s too far to wake up, look yourself in the eye through the mirror and tell yourself, out loud, “I’m a total babe, a total rockstar, and I am going to own this day!”. And keep reminding yourself of that through out the whole entire day. Every day there are going to be good things that happen that make you feel proud of yourself, and there will be negative things that happen that can cause you to be down on yourself. Instead of letting those negative moments have all the power, turn it around and keep reminding yourself that you are doing your best, and that’s all that you can do!

Try practicing more self love this weekend, and please share with me how you feel. We need to bring ourselves, and each other UP way more often, don’t you agree?
